The Bloody Olive 1997 ★★½

Watched Jun 23, 2012

The Bloody Olive is a quite potty short film noir parody that stems from a couple being visited by a work colleague of the husband on Christmas Eve and seeing him accused of stealing from their company by said colleague.

It stars off like a lovely little noir homage, really stylish looking and nicely acted, especially by Dirk Bogarde doppelganger Gene Bervoerts. Then it descends quickly into parody and instead of being really funny just becomes really silly, and not necessarily in a good way.

Not the best short film I've seen recently, but a reasonable enough way to pass the time during half-time in the football. It's on YouTube here:-
