    I think I knew that when I rated this film 3 weeks ago when I saw it, I was being too generous with two and a half stars. I felt it was a bit of an ordeal whilst watching it, my wife said afterwards that she could tell from the frequency and timbre of my sighs that I wasn't enjoying it and just wanted it over with.

    What does this franchise reboot do successfully? what 'new' thing does it offer that was not present in Raimi's recent take on this story? Well, to my reckoning- nothing and it doesn't.

    If Raimi's original Spiderman did not exist, then this might feel like a more successful film, but even measured against the substantial ouvre of superhero movies these days, this film is sorely sorely lacking. It's Garbage.

    I've never head the name Michael spoken so many times in a 90 minute period.

    anyway....

    SO 80's and SO awesome. I remember when I was kid, having an awareness of "The Lost Boys" as some sort of truly terrifying movie, to be categorised alongside fare such as "The Exorcist." I'm not entirely sure where I picked this idea up from, but I really wish I hadn't avoided this movie years…
