A Marvel movie to the core(finale has portals and things falling on buildings), with Disney cliches (dead relatives, the death fake out, etc).
I really dug the culture clash, wish they focused more on the remaining members of the group.
Obviously Baymax was adorable and great. The film's highlight, really. A drunken marshmallow who will sell so much plush that I can already hear the cash registers…
One of those movies where the direction is better than the writing. Cary Fukunaga is an immense talent!
Film is more about indoctrination and leadership, never sufficiently addresses the madness of war. However, a gruesomely wonderful scene in the middle of the film displays some of that madness.
There was a lot of the film that I enjoyed but Beasts was never able to leave a lasting impression on me. There is a disconnect in following an imaginary war, even…
