Kinema Junpo's top ten foreign animated films

When Kinema Junpo published their top ten anime films list a couple of years back, they also put together a top ten list of foreign animated films. Here it is, and again it's a grand and somewhat eclectic selection of movies!

Hedgehog in the Fog and Mr. Bug Goes to Town share 5th place. Up and The Man Who Planted Trees share 8th place. The last two share a joint 10th place.

    An interesting mix. A list that includes The Iron Giant, Hedgehog in the Fog and The Man Who Planted Trees is okay with me.

    I agree, although their lists do perhaps smack a bit of elitist contrarianism. Even so, it'd be hard to argue that any of the movies listed aren't good or worthy. I do wish that they had stuck to feature films, however. Or published a separate top animated shorts list.

    Agreed. That way they could have covered a wider range of films and directors.
