Terry Gilliam ranked

My take on the feature films of mad genius Terry Gilliam. They're all great – with one exception. Some of them are just more great than others.

  • Brazil

  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail

  • Twelve Monkeys

  • Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

  • Time Bandits

  • The Fisher King

  • The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

  • The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus

  • Tideland

  • The Zero Theorem

  • Jabberwocky

  • The Brothers Grimm

  • Yep, this list is spot on.

  • Great list! Gonna do one of my own I think, will probably look rather different though.

  • I will unfollow you if you put Brothers Grimm as number one. ;-)

  • Hahaha! No, that one is firmly placed last!

  • Nice list! I would have Fisher King a few spots higher, but otherwise it's hard to argue. Love me some Gilliam.

  • Admittedly, I haven't seen The Fisher King since it first came out, so I'm just ranking it based on my now 21 year old impression of it. Maybe I should revisit it. :-)

  • Ok after you posted I realized I had not seen The Fisher King in many years myself, so I popped in the Blu-ray last night and gave it a watch. It's a bit dated now, but It's still a great movie with great characters. I'd probably have it fourth on this list after re-watching.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the movie after a re-watch.

  • Ok, I'll make an effort to see it again and give it another consideration! I don't own a copy of the movie though, so it might take a little while. I do have to say that I'm really fond of the top four movies on my list though, so it's probably only the number five spot that's a realistic climb (unless it's way better than I remember, of course).
