What happens visually on screen is beyond compare. What happens with the personal relationships between characters, however, leaves something to be desired. Matthew McConaughey is phenomenal and grounds the role in a way I'm not sure anyone else could have. Chastain is under utilized. There is plenty of amazement to make this film worth the trip to the theater either in IMAX, 4K or regular digital. Hans Zimmer's score was dull to some, but I felt it added a lovely tone.

One of the most visceral films I've ever seen. Both Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons had my heart racing throughout. Absolutely incredible performances by both actors. They brought such authenticity and physical manifestations of emotion to the screen - I was blown away. Explores the line that coaches/teachers/motivators walk in order to find the greatness in their students/protegees.

Definitely a favorite film of 2014. Shot in only 19 days, this is a CAN'T MISS FILM.

Wow. This movie was gripping from beginning to end. Based on a true, now declassified, story, Ben Affleck is incredible as both actor and director at taking us through the details, emotions and tensions of this tale. A must see. Excellent performances by all. I was so anxious in the last 15 minutes of the film that I started (but didn't finish) Googling the ending on my phone.

This is a film I avoided watching because I was scared to feel feelings. I just saw it for the first time. It's a movie that keeps you thinking long after the credits roll - and asks questions of fate, memories, love, hope and regret. Beautiful cinematography allows you to go on the journey with the characters and the score ties it all together. Jim Carey is amazing.
