I just watched this movie for the first time and I don't know why I waited so long. It is nothing like I expected, it's so much better. Sofia Coppola uses a bustling backdrop to tell a beautiful story about loneliness. The contrast makes the emotions that much more stark and accessible. Shared loneliness can be all the commonality needed to feel suddenly understood. This movie warms your heart and breaks it at the same time. Mostly though, it makes you feel like you're not alone.
