I support comic book films, but only certain types. As long as the lore behind the superhero is simple enough, the film has time to full develop the characters and story. Good examples are Spiderman, Batman, and Ironman. Unsurprisingly, all those films did well. Superheroes (and their villains) with complex back stories are harder to portray in film either because it takes too long or it turns out to be campy. Thor's lore is complex and the back story is too whimsical to be taken seriously in the film. I think this one should have stayed a comic book.
