I've seen worse. But: bad cgi effects are inexcusable. Poor modern horror cinema.

  • The Night Child 1975

    ★★★★★ Rewatched 09 Feb, 2013

One of the best films by Dallamano. Beautifully shot and with a spooky atmosphere. Nicoletta Elmi still is the scariest little girl I ever watched on screen . I'm also happy because I had the opportunity to visit Spoleto last summer. It's an amazing and beautiful Italian town in Umbria .

  • Torso 1973

    ★★★★ Watched 23 Jul, 2012

A few days ago, I visited Perugia. So I had to watch this film, which plays in this beautiful Italian town :) Sergio Martino was one of the best italian directors of his time and Torso definitly must have inspired other directors. (Even John Carpenter for Halloween?!)
The way Martino worked with colours and the suspense shows his talent. Although the story is - like the most stories in the giallo-genre- a little bit thin, it's thrilling and the beautiful set compensates a lot.

  • Assault on Precinct 13 1976

Unfortunatly my range of vocabulary in English is limited.
The words I'd like to use to discribe this thrilling cult-movie are not easy for me to find...
But to make it short: Carpenter is a genius. I don't know many films which are so simple and effective at the same time.
He has chosen the right actors, composed a haunting score and did everything right to create a cult-movie.
I have to confess it was the first time I saw "Assault" (I never thought it would impress me anyway), but definitly not the last!
