Films with the Best Endings
One of the most important things about a film is its ending. And this list isn't about the third act. This is about the final few minutes of the film, or in some cases, even the final shot. In no particular order, this is a list of some of the best endings ever put on film, IMO. Some are beautiful, some are happy, some are tragic, some are just fun, but they're all the kind that leave me thinking "wow."
Good list. "Gladiator" and "Bella" would be on my list also. A couple of possible additions: "Inception" (most talked about ending of that year), "Slumdog Millionaire" (lots of applause in the theater at the conclusion), "Hero," "Atonement" (wow).
Neat list! A few recommendations: Inception, No Country for Old Men, Blood Diamond, Gran Torino, and Life Is Beautiful.
Embarrassing. I actually haven't seen any of the films either of you mentioned. :(
I really, really need to watch Inception sometime, and since I love good endings, you've given me a whole list of films I want to watch.
This is certainly going to be a growing list...
You've got Toy Story 3 on here... I'm good. That ending was brilliant partly because I for one didn't see it coming, and partly because it wrapped up not only the film but also the entire trilogy. I am revolting against the idea of a TS4 simply because the ending of TS3 was so perfect.
Yeah, I'm hoping there won't be a TS4. TS3 was a perfect end to the story.
