Maggie Smith and Michael Caine shine in my favorite and, in my opinion, the wittiest and most interesting of the stories. Beyond that story I did'nt care for much of the other stories.

Alan Alda and Jane Fonda do well in a segment that is'nt very interesting nor very involving.

Richard Pryor and Bill Cosby are somewhat likable in a segment that is'nt very funny even if it really tries to be.

Walter Matthau's segment does'nt get very funny until it gets near the end when he tries to cover up his infidelity. At that point, it actually gets really funny.

As a whole, California Suite had potential to be great, but ended up being somewhat mediocre and nothing special.
