Silent J’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is a fascinating thriller. In some senses, this is great non-traditional horror film. The realism of the film helps add a sense of fear, especially with little to no soundtrack throughout the film. The lack of soundtrack adds suspense. You also get very good, very believable performances from the whole cast. The way Steven Soderbergh directs this with so much suspense gives the audience that paranoid feeling that the characters have. Unfortunately, plenty of flaws prevent this from being a great thriller. The main flaw being that not enought time is given for each character to be fleshed out or gain more depth. Some characters disappear for a long period of time when you forget about them. This is disappointing, but it is still worth a look. What Contagion lacks in character and story development it gains in gritty realism and top notch acting.
