Silent J’s review:
Since I first saw this in the theater when it first came out, it still stands in my mind as one of the most surprising and unforgettable movie experiences I've had in not only a theater, but any film. Ever since the dvd first came out, I have seen this countless times but somehow, it still manages to be one of the best films I've ever seen everytime I see it.
The acting...better than I remember.
The music...I still get lost in it.
The direction...beautiful.
The opening...still pulse pounding.
The action...hits you hard in the face and stomps it.
The story...filled with layers that takes multiple viewings to take in.
The film...still outstanding.
Can't believe they are already remaking this. That's right, the trailer just came out and they got Tom Cruise to play The Driver only now he has a name...Jack Reacher.
Love this film, but you do know Jack Reacher isn't actually a remake right? It's based on the book One Shot, the trailer has just been cut (and the film probably shot) similar to Drive.
What is that I hear about a remake? Jack Reacher?
@Ross Yeah I know, just joking. The trailer just struck me as one of the latest Drive clones/ripoff; everything from the soundtrack to the style to the dialogue felt like Drive.
@Ron Just a joke. If you watch Drive and then the latest Jack Reacher trailer, they have striking similarities.
Ah I see. I'll have to check that out.
I can't wait for the day when people finally stop putting Tom Cruise in things because they think it will make money. The dude is 50, give it a rest.

True. The older he gets, the sillier he looks when he runs.
The problem with movies like jack Reacher is they make him near to invincible. and bring in Cruise to act like one. :(
And Tom Cruise will talk more. And won't crush as many skulls.
Looks like this movie might fail as both a Jack Reacher adaptation AND a Drive ripoff.
I don't mind the guy, but i would rather have someone else in a movie showcasing a classic 1969(i think) camaro ss.
