GoldenEye 1995 ★★★★★

Rewatched Jul 10, 2012

Continuing my journey to see every single 007 film before the release of Skyfall, I just got finished rewatching the seventeenth Bond film, Goldeneye which would mark the beginning to the Brosnon Era.

I'm not going to give an in depth review since I already did that in my last review of this film, but you can read that review here ( letterboxd.com/silentjoe13/film/goldeneye/ ) if you'd like. I'm gonna try and keep this brief...

On my second watch, not only do I still absolutely love this film but since beginning this series, I'I'm able to see it in a whole new light. I can appreciate it as a big step in the franchise, especially considering the big changes in it like making M a woman, but a big contribution to the series. There is nothing I don't love about this film. I even liked the actress who played Moneypenny. She's a little younger than she needs to be, but she had the kind of cute chemistry with Bond that calls back to when Lois Maxwell was in the role. Amazing characters. Fantastic Bond. Thrilling action. Complex drama. Terrific villain. Superb Bond film.

Not only is this my second favorite Bond film, but one of my favorite films of all time.
