The defining Hollywood film. They really don't make 'em like they used to.

  • Is this really good? I've always figured I had to watch it. But it looks sooo boring.

  • It's a horrid film, really. It lasts for several eternities as well. I am so glad I never have to watch this again. Ever.

  • This movie is hilariously out-dated. A perfect example of an old Hollywood film that *did not* age well at all.

Citizen Kane came out 3 years later, and Casablanca just a year after that - both have aged like a fine wine, and have only gotten better with time. This film aged like a fine cheese left on a car dashboard on a hot August day.

    Not good.

  • @Aaron To be honest I should probably give this a rewatch. I remember really enjoying it when I did, but 4 hours is really a chore to get through.

@Ryan Yeah it's outdated, but it's still a great ahievement by Hollywood standards. You can't deny it was'nt grundbreaking for its era. It's a defining Hollywood film that I enjoy for what it is.

  • Don't know if I'll ever gather enough strength to sit through such a long film. Some sunday afternoon perhaps.

  • Sure, it's a landmark film, but doesn't have any modern function. It's obsolete. It's the Model T of cinema.
