Silent J’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is almost like a modern version of The Good (Tommy Lee Jones) The Bad (Javier Bardem, Best Supporting Actor) and The Ugly (Josh Brolin). Both films involve completely different characters brought together by one goal...finding a high valued "treasure" (in this case, $2 million). Both films prove that once you open Pandora's Box, there's simply no stopping the beasts that pour out.
The Coen Brother's create easily their best film since Fargo in this pitch-perfect thriller that blends suspense, horrifying moments, some dark humor, and scenes that are unpredictable and unforgettable. The whole cast is fantastic, but it is Javier Bardem's haunting performance as brutal killer Anton Chigurh that steals the show. He gives one of the most terrifying portrayals of a serial killer ever given and one of the most unforgettable performances of the decade.
Sure, the ending may be a bit disappointing to some, but it is still one hell of a film. Brutal, nerve-wracking, shocking, and unforgettable. Think of the film as a coin toss...heads or tails? Call it and you'll definetely be surprised by the outcome.
