The Rules of Attraction 2002

Silent J’s review:
This has it's problems, like it's poorly paced, uneven and the characters make dumb decisions but this I still enjoyed this. The acting is fantastic, especially by James Van Der Beek who I wish his career went in a different direction because if he put out more performances like this in better films, I think he would be one of today's top stars. Clifton Collins Jr nearly steals the show. The dialogue is sharp and many moments are very well written. When it's not incoherent, the script can be really smart. This works as both an interesting satire and a nice companion piece to American Psycho (Van Der Beek plays Patrick's brother Sean).
