This is a fun homage to the B movie genre of the 50's. As wonderful as the special effects are, it's the characters that make this so memorable. Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward have terrific chemistry. So many likable characters (Michael Gross being my favorite) that make for some funny and real moments. Each character gets a fair share of memorable moments. The cast make this film nearly flawless. The script is funny, charming, and gets more entertaining with each watch. Great mix of horror, action, and comedy. Pretty awesome film.
