Will Ferrel gives a nice performance that is more serious and subdued than most of his films and he provides some good laughs. He makes this mostly watchable. Ed Harris gives a really strong performance. Zooey Deschanel is pretty good too but her lead character isn't really interesting. In fact, the biggest problem is that none of these characters are interesting and I'm never given a reason to care about any of these bland characters. The plot itself isn't very interesting. That does'nt mean this is entirely unwatchable though. The film has it's moments and you could probably find a great film in this, but I just could'nt get interested in the story. It's not very bad, but I don't think it was very good either.
