Top 50 Comic Book Films of All Time (LIST IS CLOSED)

I recently tried to do a list of the very best comic book films, but there's so many it's hard to choose from so I had an idea of how I would do this...

-YOU vote in the comment section on comic book adaptations that you think are the very best. You must give a rational explanation of why you think that film must be added. If you disagree with a film on the list, you must give a reason why it should be kicked off.
-These films, of course, must be adapted from either a comic book, manga, or graphic novel.
-Films that get the most votes will be added to the list. If a film gets enough votes to get kicked off, it will be kicked off.
-The list will be closed when we get 100 films.

It's as simple as that. I'll start with five of my personal choices and we'll start from there...

UPDATE!
Realised how difficult it would be to get to 100 so I shortened it to 50.

UPDATE!!
This list is now officially closed. I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to this list as your input was greatly appreciated.

  • ... and how on earth is Ang Lee's masterbatory Hulk!
Pretentious doesn't even come close to covering the magnitude of weakness that this film is.
The Danny Elfman theme... can anybody hum it? It's just percussive nonsense with that shite Gladiator/ Black Hawk Down-style warbling over the top.
Everyone in it is hammy'er than a ham sandwich.
For me it was one of the biggest Comic Book letdowns. I mean hell... if you're going to allow this kind of mediocrity then why not just open the floodgates for Daredevil, Ghostrider and Fantastic Four?!

  • If you've got Judge Dredd on there, then why isn't The Punisher (2004) on there too?
Both detract from their original comic source, but at least The Punisher had some meaty action and had a really dark sense of humour. Plus for C list comic movie it was shot by a guy who thought he was making an A list western. It looks fantastic, whereas Judge Dredd has Armand Assante and Rob Schneider (de durp de durp de durpedy durp de durp)!

  • Pretty much every film based in the 21st century has a reference to Facebook or Apple, no need to mark a fim down because of a few throwaway lines. Portman maybe an unconvincing scentist but her and Hemsworth have good chemistry which is important to the plot seeing as he'd gladly sacrifice himself for her.
Hulk & Thor aren't even in the same league of shit as FF & Ghostrider. They're truely awful films.
I don't like Judge Dredd either but Silent Joe has already outlined his reasons for having it on the list further up the page...

  • I didn't like Thor much at all, but I'm not sure on what should replace it because all of my favorite films in the genre are represented already.

  • Fair do's with Judge Dredd then (despite the fact that the plot is basically Demolition Man).
I still think Thor is the weakest of the Marvel bunch and nothing's going to sway my opinion of that annoying wench Kat Dennings. ... and Hulk is atrocious. It attempts to be this cerebral, operatic masterpiece and just fails in every respect. It saddens me that Louis Letterrier's The Incredible Hulk didn't become the hit it deserved to be because it is infinitely better than Ang Lee's abortion of a movie.

  • Is there any good reason why From Hell isn't on this list? For what it accomplishes in terms of adapting a gargantuan comic and managing to keep the tone intact it certainly deserves a place here (in my opinion).

  • No idea why X Men 2 is on here..that thing was god awful.....

  • @Everyone
Alright folks, Hulk is out. Thor stays because as many nays I've gotten, it seems there are still even more yays for it's inclusion.

Well, it's been 24 hours and now this list is officially CLOSED. Hope you're all happy with what is on the list because it is gonna stay that way. No more will be added and no more will be taken away, unless Dredd happens to be a more faithful and better adaptation. In that cast, Dredd will replace Judge Dredd but nonetheless, this list is closed. I'd like to thank everyone for contributing to this list. Each addition was greatfully appreciated.

  • Speed Racer? Hellboy II? X-Men 3? Fucking Judge Dredd? All these over The Dark Knight. I understand we all have different opinions, but it just seems like you put it there because everyone else loves it so much.
