Denzel has a very memorable quote in the film that somewhat "foreshadows" the "twist ending" in the film:
"We are guided through our life with faith, not by our sight."
Maybe I find it deeply moving, because I'm somewhat of a heavy religious person. The film attacks "belief" and "faith" in a way that very few films have. I really touched me deeply, but for others ... as you said, its an excellent thriller.
By the way, I drew inspiration from this list to create my own "twist" list. I enjoy twist endings as well.
I like to think I'm pretty smart when it comes to film ... and when I film pulls the rug out from under you to catch you off guard, and make rethink what you just saw ... I enjoy that feeling of a film outsmarting you when you think you have it figured out.
Still, great list.
Oh one more thing .... big ups to having the SAW series on there.
I'm a huge SAW fan ... best twist endings of the series were 1 (still the best one), 2, 4, and 6. I expected the ending in 7, while a lil weak, and poorly executed, it still wrapped up the series nicely.

I know it's so well known that it's hardly a twist now, but I think it's referring to the parental reveal.

Leia calls Han Solo a scruffy looking nerfherder. Did'nt see that coming. The twist that ends all twists. It will go in the history books as probably the most shocking thing in a film ever.
