What do you mean funny? Funny how?
When funnymen and comedians stop being funny and give pretty serious performances. Suggestions welcome (note:every actor gets one film)

I already have Requiem For A Dream for Marlon Wayans. I won't add Final Cut since I stated above that every actor gets one film on the list and Williams is listed under One Hour Photo. I won't consider Gosling as a funny guy. He's done very few comedies. I listed Drive because of Albert Brooks. You can view this list in list view to see the names of the actors under for which these films are for. I already have Vaughn for Into The Wild since during Psycho and Domestic Disturbance, he was a primarily dramatic actor who really just started doing mostly comedies about 10 years ago. I thought I should add his return to drama, Into the Wild. Great calls on Annistion and Zahn and I will definetely add them. Thanks for the suggestions
Obviously, I wasn't suggesting Gosling as a funny actor. If you look at my lists, you can see I'm close to seeing every one of his films (there's not really that many, which is why I figured I should finish it off).
As for Vince Vaughn, I was suggesting those movies as alternatives (yes I read your rules) to Into the Wild, since that role was very small and not a big break from his usual friendly character. Psycho and Domestic Disturbance were larger roles with more dramatic performances. Plus, Domestic Disturbance came out between Made, Zoolander and Old School.
Oh, and some more for the list from some movies I watched recently:
Zach Galifianakis in It's Kind of a Funny Story
Matthew Lillard in The Descendants
Jesse Eisenberg in The Social Network
Thanks for the other suggestions and I'll definetely be adding them. Also, I think I'll replace Into the Wild with Domestic Disturbance then. For some reason, I always thought that came out the same year as Psycho. Nonetheless, great suggestions!
See, I disagree on Jesse Eisenberg. The guy has been in a few movies and really hasn't been the funny guy in any of them. Yes, they were comedies, but to me he is an actor who is in comedies. Like Juila Roberts or George Clooney. Actors who can do comedies and drama.
See I thought this list was about comedians or actors and actresses primarily known for comedies doing an about-face and going dramatic. If not, you might as well add Cameron Diaz to this list for Vanilla Sky or Gangs of New York.
Robert Downey, Jr., a former SNL player and in a lot of comedies up until True Believer and then Chaplin - would you say he qualifies for this list? Because if I did a look-see at his resume I'd say he has now done more dramatic movies than comedies.
Tom Hanks was in a few dramas before Philadelphia, and people always thought of him as a comedian and a funnyman because he was so great in those funny movie roles, but of course he needed that big role for him to transition fully in the public eye to a dramatic actor.
It is your list, do what you'd like, I am just giving my two cents.
You make valid points. I added Eisenberg because I always thought he did more comedies than I thought he did since I'm more familar with his comedy but looking at his filmography now, that's definetely not the case. I'll take him off. I really thought he did more comedies than dramas but I guess I was wrong. Thank you for correcting me.
Danny DeVito's first role was in One Flew Over The Cukoo's Nest, and before The Rainmaker he was in Hoffa, which he directed as well. But sure, he is and was known primarily for his comedy work.
Eric Bana in Chopper? Does he count as he was a stand-up comedian before this early role? And he was in a comedy film The Castle just prior to that role.
@Joe I think Bana should count. Forgot he used to do comedy and stand up. I always thought his Poida character was hilarious. I'll add Chopper
