Sean Byron’s review:
"I never try anything. I just do it!" wails Varla, the violent leader of a three girl gang in Russ Meyer's extraordinary exploitation film. Desert car races, lecherous old men, and gravity defying brassieres abound. It struck me while watching this that there are a number of similarities to Texas Chainsaw Massacre - in particular the isolated desert farmhouse, the tense dinner scene, and the structure of the family at the farmhouse is almost identical. Additionally, the scene where the captive female escapes into the arms of another member of the family who returns her to the farm via truck is very similar to a scene in TCM. Seems likely to me that Tobe Hooper may have seen this before creating his seminal horror film.
