Strongly underrated amongst Carpenter's films, this film boasts a great performance by Sam Neill and a truly creepy atmosphere in the small town he can't escape.

Seen most recently as part of the American Cinematheque triple feature of John Carpenter films: The Thing, In the Mouth of Madness, Prince of Darkness (9/25/2011 at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica).
