This is not Batman or the Watchmen, but this might be the best superhero movie yet.

When I first heard about this being made, I was very skeptical about giving all these heroes proper screen time. When I knew Joss Whedon was involved my concerns lessened. Joss just knows how to handle an ensemble.

I had nothing to worry about. The newer characters get screen time upfront and have great scenes to get everyone excited about them. When the big guns come into play they are handled well. I wasn't crazy about how they brought in Thor, but with the way his individual movie ended, they didn't have much to work with.

When you read comics where heroes team-up and crossover it's always very exciting. There are a few staples that need to happen and Joss does it all. Heroes need to fight each other when they first meet - done. They need to bicker amongst each other and have witty banter - done. They need to all stand around in a group looking cool - done.

The Marvel movies have always been hit and miss for me, but I can't wait for an Avengers sequel. Avengers assemble!
