Timoner follows up-and-coming indie rock bands (and friends of each other) The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre over seven years, during which the former hit the big time while the latter's frontman Anton Newcombe completely fucks up his band's chances. Timoner's choice of subjects is serendipitous in the extreme, though apparently footage of another eight bands was left on the cutting-room floor when the Dandy/Jonestown story trajectory became clear. Dig! shows musicians at their most passionate, unguarded and darkly egotistical.
