Mike Harding’s review published on Letterboxd :
I love true-story films, even though they're normally a modified version of that truth (it makes the Googling afterwards all the more interesting), and I'd been meaning to see this for some time. I'm no fan of baseball at all, but it definitely doesn't matter for this film — it has a nice restraint to it, Pitt is excellent, and Jonah Hill surprises with a fine serious performance that bumped him up in my estimation. With a film like this you already know the outcome so it really comes down to the journey getting there... and this was an enjoyable, un-flashy journey.
Well played, sirs.
