It would have been nice if they had skipped nearly the first hour of the film and just gotten on with the damn thing. The chemistry of the team was the best part of the whole mess, but the villain never felt like a threat (and his plan, and therefore the movie's conflict, was one foot out the door at best) and it felt stuffed with needless action beats. I hope the next movie just gets right to the Avengers kicking ass and cracking jokes; enough with the thin attempts at emotional pulls. Leave that for the big boys.
