The Messenger 2009
really impressed by this hidden gem. Strong & original storyline supported by excellent acting from all the cast. WH turns in a stella performance as the frustrated and cynical superior to BF's deeply complex Sergeant. The film studies aspects of grief, anger, comradery and how various characters deal with such emotions. A buddy movie for the grief-stricken. Superb.

Lordy Lordy did this film pulls my strings. 123 minutes of aggrevation, frustration, boredom, disappointment and a fitful nights sleep after - waking up several times in the night muttering "what the f**k ?"
I'd not read too much about the film, my tried and trusted method being to do so as little as possible, I was aware of the space jockey and the connection to Scott's previous masterpiece "Alien", Empire magazine ranting on about the Prometheus project, like it… -
The Dark Knight Rises 2012
overall disappointed. I missed the humour of the 2nd. I found the story unecessarily convoluted and meandering. I love Nolan and I know he likes to challenge his audiences but I found myself not really caring about the plot. Strong performances from Hardy & Hathaway but the kiss at the end with a ticking bomb was cheesy and the Robin teaser irritated.
