What Hellboy II: The Golden Army lacks in terms of an engaging plotline, it makes up for with imaginative locations, breathtaking creature costuming and a superb array of special effects that don't rely as heavily on CGI as most modern fantasy/sci-fi films do. Guillermo del Toro is in his element.
