  • Bounce 2000

    ★★ Added

Bounce is a diabolical misnomer of a romantic comedy whose descent into insincerity and blatant disregard for legitimate human emotion is unforgivable. Appreciated the premise, despised the end-product.

  • Forces of Nature 1999

    ★★★ Added

Forces of Nature suffers from a case of mistaken identity. Attempting sequences involving high-brow philosophical concepts amidst the pre-packaged formula of tried-and-tested romantic comedies provides insincere results. Entertaining, but not engaging.

  • Going All the Way 1997

    ★★½ Added

Ironically enough, Going All The Way doesn't quite get where it needs to go.

  • 200 Cigarettes 1999

    ★★★ Added

200 Cigarettes is the movie equivalent of a high-end actors workshop. The premise would arguably work better on a stage than on screen.

  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier 2014

    ★★★★½ Watched 30 Mar, 2014

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the movie that has it all; it encompasses everything we love about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and presents it all in one very tight, slick and incredibly attractive package.

  • Veronica Mars 2014

    ★★★★ Watched 14 Mar, 2014

It's difficult to review Veronica Mars without understanding its genesis: a highly acclaimed, much loved, but woefully rated television show is terminated prematurely. After its cancellation, it took six years before the planets aligned allowing Kristen Bell to make a triumphant return to what is arguably her finest role to date, so, breaking a few Kickstarter records in the process, the Veronica Mars film was born. Every ounce of love, gratitude and adoration for the original series and its fans…

  • Sphere 1998

    ★★ Added

Sphere's greatest adversity is overcoming the deplorable structure that filmmaker's decided to present it in. Broken up into short segments, Sphere plays out more like a novel than a film, understandably so, as it is an adaption of Michael Crichton's bestseller. Despite the fascinating premise, otherworldly effects and the stellar cast, not much can manifest this film into being anything more than a sub-standard underwater flop that's destined to sink to the bottom of cinematic science-fiction history.

  • Tracks 2013

    ★★★½ Watched 02 Mar, 2014

The greatest success of Tracks is the cinematography; the desert sequences are infused with a breathtaking level of beauty that manages to perfectly capture the harsh isolation and loneliness of the Australian outback.

  • Happy Feet 2006

    ★★★½ Added

The all singing, all dancing colony of emperor penguins took the world by surprise, and rightly so. Happy Feet is incredibly inspired and manages to marry fun for the whole family with serious undertones regarding environmental issues and marine conservation.

  • Happy Feet Two 2011

    ★★ Added

    A resounding disappointment.

  • In a World... 2013

    ★★★½ Watched 06 Feb, 2014

Sometimes movies surprise you, and luckily, In A World... manages to be a pleasant one. Charming, lively and hilariously satisfying, Bell manages to deliver an incredibly accomplished screenplay which she also directs; and coupled with her honest and engaging performance, she demonstrate that she's a formidable force to be reckoned with in the Hollywood eye.

  • About Time 2013

About Time is one of those films where you're smiling the entire time throughout because of the sheer delight it rewards you with.
