A reboot I didn't feel was necessary. Not a patch on the original or its sequel. Suffered from a painfully slow start but recovered just about.

Missed much of the comedy that was provided by the excellent J.K. Simmons in Raimi's trilogy and Garfield came across on the most part as a douche when compared to Maguire's Peter Parker. Having not read the comics, I'm not sure which was the closer adaptation but I prefer Maguire's version.

On a positive note, Emma Stone was delightfully cute as Gwen Stacy and the visuals looked amazing apart from the awkward looking Lizard. I was a big fan of the first person Spidey view.

Not amazing but better than average so worth a watch. My opinion of it will hopefully improve on a re-watch.
