I did not go into this movie knowing it was directed by the same person who directed "Melancholia." However, I quickly figured it out with his recycled cinematic shots. I didn't hate "Melancholia," but I hated this. Director Lars Von Trier wrote this screen play upon leaving a mental hospital, suffering from depression; this is very evident. I thought the film started on a high note but that only lasted for about 10 minutes. The rest of the movie I had inner turmoil deciding whether I should continue watching, especially because some scenes are very hard to watch. There is one shot that is the most gruesome thing ever put into a movie. The movie as a whole is sick, twisted, and terribly boring, a terrible combination.
