The Perks of Being a Wallflower 2012
A great movie that helped remind me that I should venture out of my comfort zone when it comes to seeing new films.
Even with a darkness at the core of the story, it was great to see these characters develop and grow as the film goes on.
People mostly seemed to focus on Emma Watson when this was release, with it being one of her first post-Potter movies, but for me Logan Lerman stole the show with his portrayal of the fragile and broken Charlie.

The Collection 2012
How is it possible for the same writers and director to take The Collector and develop it into this sack of pain?
Well done on ruining your own franchise.

The Collector 2009
A good, solid horror film full of tension and traps galore. You can't help but see some Saw influences in the mix, but it's nice to be able to find some originality in horror story lines these days.

Citadel 2012
For a movie that initially had my attention with intrigue and creepiness, I was a little let down when it unfortunately fell foul towards the end.
Some poor acting from supporting characters, and an immediacy to explain everything and tie it all together, let the film down just when it was getting interesting.

Hesher 2010
I rented Hesher based wholly on two things; JGL and Metallica, and as such didn't know what to expect at all.
Despite watching it a day ago, I still don't know how I feel about it. I think I can see what it wants to do but I can't tell if it does it well. There are some laughs to be had but also some rough seas to weather.
I couldn't really connect on an emotional level with any of the characters and I think, given the theme that is at the heart of this story, this is what lets it down.

Blade: Trinity 2004
Bringing in Dracula was an interesting idea but there's just so much that doesn't work or that feels forced.

Blade II 2002
I loved this when it first came out. I even have Blade's upper arm tattoos. I watched it tonight for the first time in years and although I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to, it isn't the worst thing to ever happen to cinema.
I was mostly impressed that the CG was still holding its own 10+ years on. It's the first film I can remember that had entire human characters rendered in it.

AVP: Alien vs. Predator 2004
Oh my, what a waste of two great franchises and the brilliant idea of bringing them together.
