Steve Lanham’s review:
Despite sounding like an exciting idea it quickly became quite boring. Bekmambatov puts together some interesting action sequences and uses the 3D well, managing to get a few jump scares which come off the screen but the landscapes look too CGI heavy. I would rather they kept the period sets small if they looked more naturalistic.
The film gets old and tired at about the same time old Abe does. The age prosthetics are marginally better than Prometheus.
