Steve Dennis’s review:
A solid german film depicting the potential dangers of rock climbing, specifically the true story of an attempt at the first ascent of the north face of the Eiger, commonly known as the "Murder wall".
The climbing sequences are executed very well, and for the vast majority of the film, any green screen effects or sets are completely seamless. This is a great looking movie from start to finish.
The only thing I can really fault it with is that a few of the plot points are dealt with pretty heavy-handedly in a "Well, I wonder if THAT will become important later..." kind of way.
Other than that, it's a well acted, enjoyable survival thriller. The moral of the story: Don't be an idiot when you're climbing something called the Murder Wall.
