Strangely I really enjoyed this. Actually more than I did the remake "Heat". Perhaps it is because I expected this film to not be very good and absolutely everyone raved about "Heat". Definitely makes me a lot more interested in revisiting "Heat".
Mann's touches are all over this film and it feels more like Miami Vice revisited in L.A. than anything else. It is clear it was made for TV, but the actors and director do a good job, raising it above other made-for-tv movies. As usual the music fits the action and the film moves along at a fair pace too...
It's a good film and definitely one of the better made-for-tv films I've seen. Heat is is much, much better, though.
You are not helping lowering my expectations of Heat! :-p
Heat is absolutely amazing! How's that?? ;-) How long has it been since you've seen it?
hmmm... a couple of years at least.
Same here, but I've seen it numerous times, so I know/remember it fairly well. I think it's time for a re-visit, though.
