A great script, great cast and a great director doesn't always make for a great film. Director Kenneth Branagh did most things right, but the over-reliance on CGI for the Valhalla sequences irritated me after a while. When I want to see Norse gods on the big screen, I'd like to see them looking suitably Norse, and not like screen-caps from a computer game. A bit more stone and a bit less shiny stuff would have made for less sensory overload. The scenes on earth were excellent though, and again, a nice setup for the forthcoming Avengers film.
