Kinda obvious but enjoyable enough.

As a fan of the musical, I found this adaptation different enough to have a purpose but still keeping the integrity of the source. Whilst on it's own the music may be jarring, in context is paints a very beautiful and gritty narrative.
Very beautiful shots too.

Too busy and frankly forgettable. Would have been more forgivable if it wasn't a Star-studded Tim Burton film.

I got this movie when it was bundled with 'Fight Club'. I read the story and looked at the subtext behind the words "Sexy Beast" and decided that I'd rather not go there.
Watching it, I had no idea what would happen despite what you would expect to be a simple plot. The protagonist is against-all-odds likable. This is a hit-and-miss movie and boy did it hit.
