Boogie Nights is just such an incredible film. The performances are top notch, the story is great, and it moves at a breakneck pace. Honestly though, PTA deserves most of the credit with such a well built film.
Even if you dont enjoy PTA as a director, you can not deny his ability to create a strong scene. Towards the later half of the film, It takes a very dark turn, reminding you that even these fictional characters have consequences for their actions. The scene where they try to sell the baking soda is one of the most well constructed scenes in film history in my opinion. The thing I really take away from this film, is that young people are very impressionable, and should look before you leap.
Skip Magic Mike, watch this film and it will stay with your for a long time.
