Sean’s review:
This is my absolute favorite movie ever made. If I wrote out every reason why I think that right now, all that would come of it would be a heap of paragraphs blathering on about how perfect it is. I don't quite feel like going through that right at this time, so here is the short version:
An incredible story that has humor, suspense, mystery, drama, and romance that takes you on a whirlwind ride throughout the country. Remarkable performances and a sharp, tightly constructed script that shows you new things each time you watch the film. Perfect direction by the best there ever was.
I'm starting to get a little giddy and incoherent just writing this up here now and reminiscing about what I just saw again. This is why I love movies.
One of the most perfect and fun movies ever made.
This is a really good film.
Awesome movie. Definitely my favorite Hitchcock, and I'm glad I don't have it on bluray yet as it gives me one more reason to eventually get the Hitchock box set (that sucker's got to drop to $150 or less at some point...)
@Callan I think the box set will be on sale quite a bit, which is good. I've already seen two separate ones for it since it was released. It's a great set and definitely worth picking up if you can.
When i was a lot younger and first started "getting into" Hitchcock, North by Northwest was one of the best films i'd ever seen. It cemented my theory that once you get past 20 minutes of Hitch film you're hooked till the end. Great film with great music, performance....everything.
