In many ways, exactly what I expected -
- the cinematography is breathtaking
- the settings and art direction look faux-phenomenal
- the action is fine
- the story is forgettable
- the Henry Cavill is hot
- the Stephen Dorff is dorffy
There was, however, some unintentional cheese which really brought things down.
"Style without substance" was a common criticism of The Fall, which I absolutely do not agree with. However, it is fitting here. Overall somewhat entertaining, nice to look at, certainly not terrible, but Tarsem Singh can do better.
