I was really looking forward to this movie when it came out but I was pretty disappointed with it. Ellen Page is great as always and Kristen Wiig turns in a surprisingly complex performance but I found the story to be contrived, bland and a little hackneyed. I've observed an interesting phenomena occurring with this film: I disliked it; I found it condescending, artificial and trite. Upon further investigation, my opinion is in the general wheelhouse of the consensus among female viewers. But for some reason, I have yet to meet a man who is not head over heels in love with this film. What gives?
