The Wailing might be one of the most expertly-crafted horror films I've ever seen. At roughly 2.5 hours, it's a haunting journey. It does away with jump scares, choosing instead to creep inside you and wait until the right moment when your defenses are lowered. Not a single frame of its runtime is superfluous, and the end result is something that's really sticking with me. That's damn good horror.
The highest praise I can give Suicide Squad is that it is a resounding disappointment. The movie itself is a confusing mess of plot threads - all missing either a beginning, a middle, or an end - that isn't sure whether it's supposed to be funny, edgy, or cookie-cutter blockbuster Hollywood bullshit.
