I'm not the biggest Sam Rockwell fan but he was hilariously unstable in this, which wasn't apparent at the beginning. I'm also not fans of Christopher Walken, or Colin Farrell either, so I was wary, but I though this was okay, despite the over the top violence and ridiculous plot. I found myself wishing for a little more cohesion, and I wouldn't see it again, but I didn't hate it.
Michelle Williams is one of the most incredible actresses working today. Nobody else makes me actually feel her highs and lows, most often without saying a word. I cannot bear watching movies about infidelity, and I was waiting for that moment of disappointment, but it never came. Having said that, this movie was full of longing and director Sarah Polley has this amazing gift of actually slowing down feelings. There were moments that I did not understand what the fuck…
