Definitely of film of it's time, one which will never fall out of favour with me. This 80's dark and gritty satirical Sci-fi classic never gets old. It's emotional story is often overlooked for it truly is a spectacle. With the greatest example of "a man in a suit" Verhoeven's visceral masterpiece puts you at the forefront of the violence, and jumps out of the screen, making you question "will the next shot hit me?"
"Dead or alive you're coming with me"
Found this film quite confusing. Was it humurous?
Isn't this a crucial scene? Should I be chuckling at the dialogue? But wait this is kinda graphic and intense? Why does the music sound like a family film score in parts?
I found a strong incosistancy in its narrative which threw me out of a story that actually had an interesting plot. Underdeveloped Is the word I'd use.
The graphic violence was done to a tee though and Viggo was tops
