This is a nice homage to the Spielberg-esque children's films of the late 70s and 80s. As someone who didn't really grow up on them, this didn't grab me like it would a lot of people but it's still good.

The only thing about it I didn't like is the damn lens flares that J.J. Abrams seems to like to employ a lot. I didn't like them in Star Trek and I don't like them here. I know that's a lame criticism but it bothers me.
