Aaron T. Rex’s review:
I usually like a good aussie flick and this certainly didn't disappoint. I liked the modern take on the western and the atmosphere was great. Steve Bisley was very good and I was surprised to see that he got his start along with Mel Gibson and that they were in Mad Max together. I loved the score, pretty fucking fantastic. My very favorite parts of the movie were the ones with Shane and his wife, Alice. There was just something about those scenes. They didn't necessarily fit in that well with the overall tone of the movie, but they provided a nice little breather. Very serene in a way.
This flick rocks hard. It's a really well paced film that knows not to over complicate its story with any unnecessary rubbish(ok, maybe the panther bit, but I like that). There are so many hero moments in this that I can't help but love it.
I'm with on the greatness of Steve Bisley, but Tommy Lewis steals the film. I love when he eats the cake in the police station.
Hopefully this gains some notoriety as a cult film as it definitely deserves it. Red Hill is a pretty fantastic debut film and director Patrick Hughes shows a whole lot of promise as a filmmaker.

Defnitely agree on the hero bit. The music works so well to build up those scenes. Also, you're right about Tommy Lewis. I don't think he's better than Bisley but he is very good. I love his last line which also ties in neatly with the name-book.
