added my brief thoughts
I added my thoughts here: letterboxd.com/strybeck/film/across-110th-street/
If we're talking spoilers here, can anyone explain what happened during the final seconds of the film? Do you think he died? What was the specific motivation behind it, if any?
Steven - I'd say absolutely, he died. The music cues and the freeze-frame are, to me, a very clear indication that his life ended. There would be no other reason for those stylistic choices to be made.
This movie reminds me of that line from Jerry Seinfeld's stand-up: "I’m always whispering to the person next to me. 'Why did they kill that guy? I don’t understand. I thought he was with them. Wasn’t he with them? Why would they kill him if he was with them? Oh, he wasn’t really with them. Oh . . . It’s a good thing they killed him.'"
Added the latest, thanks guys!
Sadly I won't have time to watch this one before the deadline. I'll see it this week and add an 'unofficial' review.
No problem!
Third week will be over in a few hours. Last call for anyone who still wants to add a review. Go here for week 4.
