The Hangover Part III 2013
Great way to wrap up the "trilogy." It flashes back and mentions the previous movies. What this movie does well is continue the chemistry among the main three guys — THE WOLFPACK. BUT you're not going to laugh as much as you think. This is more action this time around. John Goodman and Melissa McCarthy are great supporting characters. McCarthy almost steals the movie.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan 1982
What it amazing about this movie is how poor the production quality can be at time. But the pacing and the interaction between the characters is the heart and soul of the movie. You don't need crazy action scenes or stunning visual effects (cough "Star Trek Into Darkness") for a great movie. You need a good philosophy, great characters and even better acting. This one has them all.

Oblivion 2013
The summer movie season has started early and "Oblivion" knocks it out of the park. A collage of great sci-fi, this thriller starring Tom Cruise is 126 minutes heart-pounding, plot-twisting fun. IMAX screen makes the experience even better.

Life of Pi 2012
Ang Lee adapts Yann Martel's philosophic novel into a 3-D visual masterpiece. With visuals on par with "Avatar" and "Hugo," "Life of Pi" will be a force to be reckoned with in the technical categories at next year's Oscars. The only reservation about this movie: it feels much longer at times than its 127-minute runtime.
